Andrew Vacchs was a crime fiction writer, child protection advocate and attorney who lived in New York, Chicago and the Pacific Northwest. He wrote 33 novels but is best known for his "Burke" series, of which this is the first, published in 1985. He continued to publish in this series through 2008. Vacchs (pronounced 'vax'), died late 2021. This copy of FLOOD is in excellent (near fine) condition with just a couple of blemishes to the dust jacket, which is now well protected with a mylar cover. The book itself appears only lightly read if at all and is signed on the title page. The book also includes an informational letter about the book from the publisher, indicating that this may have been a gift or promotional copy. Scarce in this condition and with signature.
